Now this is a fast and easy dinner…it was a huge hit with US here at Jimmydicks.com, but also with our neighbors, we has enough to share… Don’t be afraid of Polenta, in our pantry we had the pre-cooked ready to eat versions…slice and go…so easy. Jimmy Dick also has a few recipes were you slow cook the Polenta as well…for me, as I am the main taster (lucky me) there is no difference between the two, however, with the raw Palenta that you would slow cook, you can add cream, cheeses and all yummy stuff during the cooking process. And yes, ton’s more flavor with slow cooked version..but with this Spicy Sausage Ragu with Polenta dish the pre-cooked version was perfect.
Make it for us, we would love to hear your feedback!
Here is also a fan favorite from Jimmy Dicks International Eats channel on Youtube… Grits Casserole. Now you may be wondering why we are adding this video to the page today… this is why, according to Google, yes Google, “Polenta is a staple of Italian cuisine, whereas grits are a Southern staple. While polenta is made from ground yellow corn, grits are made from white corn (also called hominy). … The most notable difference between the two is in the texture: polenta is much coarser, whereas grits are finer.” So yes, Grits are finer in texture, but slow cooked very much the same.
Take a minute to watch the Grits Casserole video. Even if you don’t like grits, this will change your mind FOREVER, for real, yes we said it, Change Your Mind Forever about grits.
Awesome. Love the site
